HOAD LOAN REJECTED

The voting, for the proposed road,, bridge, and machinery loans of the Egmont County elicited very little interest, the bulk of the ratepayers failing,, to record their votes. The only poll where any interest was at all displayed,; was in the Itahotu Northern KidingJ * where" the three issues were placed before the ratepayers, the ratepayers at. the other polling, centres being only asked to vote on two issues—bridges^ and machinery. As a result of the voting the bridge and machinery loan»> were carried throughout" the county,; but the proposed road loan was rejected. ' •
