SUICIDE IN GAOL
BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION. AUCKLAND, June 19. •Austin Vincent Carroll, aged 30, remanded on a charge of indecent assault on a little girl, suicided in his cell at Mount Eden gaol last night. He was found dead at seven o'clock this morning. Apparently he employed a towel and a belt, fastening one round his neck and the other round the bars of the window. He jumped from his hammock and was strdangled. He leaves awife and two children.
