MILTON, June 19. The Hon. W. F. Massey, Prime Mi?,ister, and the Hon. Jas. Allen, Minister of Defence and Education, visited Milton yesterday. In the. evening both spoke at a packed public meeting, and were later entertained at a banquet. Mr Massey briefly outlined some of the Bills intended to be placed before Parliament in the forthcoming session. The effect of some of these, he said, would be to extend the freehold to many thousands of settlers, bringing up to date the Shops and Offices Act. reform of the Upper House, and the removal of existing anomalies in the tariff, and also to tax motor-car owners for the upkeep of main roads.
