ANNIVERSARY SERVICE

KAPONGA PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH.

On Sunday last in St. .Andrew's Church, Kaponga/. special services were held to, celebrate the third anniversary of-'the "opening of the church-. • The Rev. T. H. Roseveare,. of St.-. Andrew's, New Plymouth, preached to.large and appreciative ' congregations "morning, afternoon, and evening. .The afternoon service was specially devoted to the young' folks', and "\yiis much enjoyed;.. The= subject was "The Growth' of- Habit." ,■.-..■• •• • • •■•■-: In ther. Town Hall -on''Monday the anniversary tea; followed-by meeting of a Lsocial character/ was held. The tables were laden with good things., pro-r. yided -by the ladies of the congregation and friends of other churches. One table was*supplied by the ladies of "Awa--tuna. . The- meeting at' S- o'clock was presided over" by the Rev. "W. 11.. Howes, of Manaia, as •■Moderator-of the Kapo.nga change." /With him-on- the platform Aver^ Rev. F: Rands, "of St. John's Methodist Church, who. gave an address on "The Conversion of Critics," and- the Rev. James. Pattiison, of the Stratford Presbyterian phurch, , whospoke on "Hofr to Help the Ghiireh." iUr. Stewart,- home* missioner iii charge of St. Andrew's welcomed " tho visiting ministers and thanked' ."all who had contributed' towards the success of the anniversary ' celebrations.
