BURGLARY IN CHRISTCHURCH.
THEFT OF JEWELLERY

CHRISTCHURCH, June 17. Another of the mysterious burglaries which have been occurring in Christchurdi of late was committed last night, when "Woodford," the residence of Ah- Geo. Palmer, Papanui road, was broken into, and jewellery to the'extent of £150 was stolen." The affair happened between 7 and 8 p.m., when the .family were having supper, and it wu-; not discovered ■ till about 10.30 p.m. The thief, or thieves, entered by a back window and rifled fire bedrooms. Strange to say, they took only gold and jewellery, leaving all the silverware untouched. They also took a purse, but it contained no money. It is stated ;fch;it tiie thief, or thieves, have only been breaking into two-storeyed house's between the hours of 7 p.m. and 9 p.m., when the family are at dinner. So far. they have marie a haul in Chiistchurch of £750 worth of jewellery. • ■
