ESCAPED FROM CUSTODY
WHANGAREI, Oct. 24. A man named R. Huston., under arrest for burglary, to appear at the Police Court to-day, broke custody while the constable was getting, the prisoner's breakfast. Police and civilians are searching for him. The fortnightly meeting of the Havrera Fire Brigade was held on Wednesday evening, Deputy-Superintendent McAneny presiding. A quantity of business was put through, including the payment to the men of the subsidy given by the Fire Board.
