GOODS TO SMALL STATIONS.

fßr Telegraph—Special to Star.] WELLINGTON, Oct. 23. fho regulations under which goods are carried to certain country stations only on specified days in the week are said to have caused a great deal of dissatisfaction among country settlers, through so many classes of goods consigned to numerous people being jammed into one truck. In answering a question on this subject, the Minister for Railways states that, although the existing arrangements may be somewhat inconvenient in occasional instances where small lots of goods are concerned, it has been found to be a material improvement on the 6ystem previously in operation, and also economical. The restriction applies only to cases where small lots of goods have to go from one station to another; where truck'oads are offered, they are sent any day to any station.
