In the House of Representatives on Wednesday afternoon a resolution of appreciation of the services rendered to the dominion by the late Mr T. S. Weston, of New Plymouth, was carried unanimously.

A resolution of sympathy with Mrs. Bulchler was on Wednesday passed by the Taranaki Education Board in connection with the death of her husband, who was headmaster of the Te Kiri School.

A Sydney cablegram states that Dr Robert Robinson, of Manchester, has been appointed professor of organic and applied chemistry, and Dr Anstruther Lawson, of Glasgow, professor of botany, at Sydney University.

After 19 years with the Auckland Harbor Board, 18 of which he has been harbor-master and dock-master, Captain A. Duder, harbor-master and chief pilot, has handed in his resignation on ground* of ill-health.

It is understood by the Inglewood Record that Dr Kerr-Hislop has received a Government appointment as medical inspector of school children for the provincial district of Canterbury.
