THE LADIES' TOURNAMENT.

BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION. NELSON, Sep. 3. • Glorious weather prevailed for the t-coutinuation of the ladies' golf championship tournament. The fourth round of the championship produced easy wins .for Misses Collins and Pearee, whereas Mrs Slack and Miss Wood and Mrs Williams and Miss Burnes had tremendous which caused great exicitement. The wins of Mrs Slack have been hard-fought for, and the victory ■of Miss Burnes over Mrs Williams was .after a brilliant finish. The bogey senior .handicap was won by Miss. Tweed, 2 up. In the junior handicap Mrs McLean and Miss Davies tied with 4 down. To-mor-row semi-finals will be played. Miss Col.lins meeting Mrs Slack, and Miss Pearee meeting Miss Burnes. The results to- • day were as follows : CHAMPIONSHIP.—Third Round. Miss Collins beat Miss Snodgrass, 5 up and 3 to play. Mrs Slack beat Miss Wood, 1 up on -th'i twentieth hole. THE ANNUAL MEETING

NELSON, Sep. 3. The New Zealand Ladies' Golf Union i-er. last night. It was resolved that -the championship be held not earlier than September, and that the centre holding it notify at the previous annual meeting the date on which it will begin ; that the inter-Island contest be pltyed by match play, nine a-side; that in future the draw for partners in han--dicap events at the championship meeting be arranged in three grades viz., ; 0 to 12, 13 to 20.. and over 20, instead 'Of the present grading of 0 to 15, and over 15. The date of the next championship was fixed for September 10, 1913, at Napier, and the date of the Coronation Medal Handicap for the last Friday in May. The secretary's report shows that the affiliated clubs had increased from 32 to 38, with a rcem- ' bership of 2500. Last year's credit balance was £20 10s 9d, and this year's ■£15 5s 9d, the apparent decrease being -owing to the cost of last year's medals •coming into this year's account.
