In the House of Commons the Appropriation Bill was read a second time.

Mr Asquith, in reply to a question arising out of the Privy Council's decision in the Ne Temere case in Canada, said that the difficulties attending the suggestion of a uniform marriage law were applicable to the whole Empire. They were so great that he feared he would be unable to institute enquiries with a view to gaining the adhesion of the selfgoverning dominions thereto. .
