OLD LADY AND THE BABY.
Sir J. Crichton-Browne, speaking at a meeting of the National Health Society at London recently, said there were two dangerous classes in this country-—the faddists, who were always running after some new thing and urging upon people some odd diet or some preposterous Temedy, and the positivists,- who clung tenacoously to antediluvian notions. The work of the society lav in breaking down old prejudices. He told a story of an old lady who was instructed to take the temperature of the water before bathing a baby. "If it's too hot the baby turns red. If it's too cold it turns blue. "What mdre do you wantP"
