Tbe Government Meteorologist telegraphed at 12.30 p.m. to-day:—Wester-ly moderate to strong winds prevailing, and there are indications for winds freshening; weather misty, cloudy and unsettled at times; glass unsteady, but fall; a storm area appears to be approaching from the westward, especially threatening the South Island.
