THE KAITANGATA STRIKE.

DUNEDIN, July 10. The directors of the New Zealand Coal and Oil Company have replied to a rlenutation of the Otasro Coal-miners' Union (Federation of Labor) upholding their prevision decision not to recognise this body, as the other union was registered under the Arbitration Court.

A meeting of the men last, week threatened more drastic steps if recognition was refused. A further meeting of the men will be held immediately to decide upon a course of action.
