A slight delay occurred owing to the Wimmera reaching the wharf at the luncheon hour, but on the return of the boarding inspector arrangements 'were immediately made for Mrs Dowell to visit the Customs House, and within ten minutes the matter was fixed, and Mr Dowell was informed his wife might 3and. It was understood a certificate covering a month's residence was sufficient to meet Mr Dowell's wish, but if an extension was required there would oe no difficulty in obtaining it. Mr Thomas,"Minister of Internal Affairs, considers the explanation satisfactory.
