ELECTRIC ELEVATOR FOR WANGANUI.

. WANGANUI, June 25. Ah important proposal came before the Borough Council this evening, when an application was made for permission to erect an elevator at Durietown, an important suburb of AVanganui. The elevator is in the form of a tunnel and shaft, the latter being 202 feet high. It is proposed to have an electricallyworked lift. The scheme means a lot to dwellers on the hill. The council considered the application and granted private rights for 35 years, the council reserving the option of taking it over after ten years. The scheme was originated by Mr E. Crow, engineer instructor at the Technical College.
