The weather was cloudy and misty, and play was resumed at 10.30 on *a softish wicket, the attendance being 6,000. Emery and Hazlitt were the bowlers. Woplley filled the vacancy. Fry (41) put up a very weak defence. Wooley scored 8 in 20 minutes. The Englishmen had lost four wickets for 241 when rain interrupted play.
