URGED BY MAGISTRATE BISHOP

CHRISTHURCH, June 23
Mr H. W. Bishop, Senior Stipendiary Magistrate here, in the course of an address at the East Belt Brotherhood meeting this afternoon, urged the Brotherhood to take militant action .in connection with the increase of gambling and the abolition of the totalisator. Mr Bishop indicated that he himself would take militant action in connetion with these and other matters near his heart as soon as he was no longer a magistrate. He also hinted at the likelih6odl of his being a candidate for Parliament alter severing his connection with the magistracy.
