BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. (Received June 25, 10 a.m.) LONDON, June 24. The weather was hot and stormy for the test match, Australia v. England, which was played at Lord's. There was a slight shower. MacLaren, Mayne, Minnett, and Webster were omitted from the Australian team. England won the toss and Hobbs and Rhodes opened to Witty and Hazlitt. When stumps were drawn Rhodes had scored 52 and Hobbs 25. During the day play was interrupted by a thunderstorm. (Received June 25, 31 a.m.) England has lost four wickets for 211.
