WELLINGTON, June 23
Exports from the dominion for the first half of this month" show a big increase over the corresnonding period of last year, namely, £713,019, against £403,181. The effects of the late season on the volume of the production are strikingly shown in the figures for the year ending June 15 and those corresponding in the preceding 12 months. The exports for the year ending June ]5, 1912, totalled £19,004,771. against £18,903,912, an increase of £100,859. A truer index of the volume of the Tear s exports is to take the year as ending in September. For instance, the exports for the year ending March 31 of this and last year show exports for this season to be at a considerable disadvantage. Exports for the year ending March 31, 1913, totalled £19,036,----660, and for the year ending March 31 1911, £21,543.900, or a decline in this season's figures of £2,507,240, whereas this season actually has been more prolific than the previous one.
