Mr Fisher has declared that after tionsidering the request for assistance in the Brisbane strike, the Government concluded that the circumstances made it unnecessary to send troops. By send.ing them it woxild have done irreparable inniry to Australia, as a conflict between troons and citizens at the present time would end the country's defence
system
