Portus and Talbot's American Minstrels will appear at the Opera House, S awe ™' for one night on Friday, Juno i j com Pany is a combination of colored artists, who have been schooled on the American Minstrel stage, an ordeal which nothing survives except merit. The company is under the per- ' sonal direction of the well known Hugo Brothers, whose theatrical activities are well known in New Zealand. For the American Minstrels the firm has been extremely careful, not only in the selection of the company, but in the cn?tumes and settings/ and their visit here will, no doubt, nrove one of the theatrical treats of the season; it will give an opportunity to judge the American negro and the American minstrel at first hand.
