TE KIRI.

LFBOH OUR OWN COEBESfONDENT.!

The bachelors' ball held on Wednesday last was a most enjoyable dance. The energetic committee are to be congratulated upon the admirable arrangements they had made for the comfort and pleasure of those present. The floor was in perfect order, the music supplied by Miss Parkes left nothing to be desired. The inclemency of the weather, no doubt, accounted for the absence of many, but, in spite of this, there was a fair attendance, and the room was comfortably filled for dancing. The committee decided to hold a supplementary dance on the following Monday, mainly for those who had been prevented from making use of their tickets owing to the weather .

The euchre parties are proving most popular and are being well attended; Mrs Brings and Mr W. J. Gatenby were the winners of the prizes at the last party. The size of the hall is somewhat of a drawback for enjoyment at the dances which followed, but the utmost good nature prevails, and everybody makes the best of it.

A concert and dance are being arranged for July 10 in aid of the funds for the Anglican Church in Te Kiri.
