FIRE-PLUGS CEMENTED UP

WELLINGTON, June 21. During the progress of '■ a fire at Hataitai yesterday it was discovered that the fire pings, which are scarce in that locality, had been cemented up. Fifteen houses depended on one of these plugs. The authorities are endeavoring to discover the perpetrator of this criminal act.
