A PRISONER'S ESCAPE.
INVERCARGILL, June 19. Shortly after 1 o'clock to-day a prisoner named Alexander Ferrer, who was one of a, squad of men working near the old baths, attempted to escane. Ferrer dodged round the corner, and made off up Tweed street. There were three officers with the squad, and while one remained in charge the other two went in pursuit. 0n« mounted a bievcle, and the second enlistM tl»*» ap si stance of n sr^rino- van. *"d within five minutes of his o*"ape the prisoner was again in custody.
