FIRE AT LYALL BAY.
B? TELEGRAPH -PRuSS ASSOCIATION. WELLINGTON, June 19. At an early hour this morning three dwelling houses on Sutherland', road, Lyall Bay, and their contents were destroyed by fire, which originated in a five-roomed cottage occupied by Messrs P. McCall, R, Norton, and T. Hurrell, who had left some clothes drying in front of a grate. The house was owned ()y Mr James Mcßain, and was insured m the Phoenix for £300, while the contents were insured in the Ocean for =£100. The second house, of six rooms, which was burned down, was owned and occupied by Mrs Agnes Mcßain, and was insured m the State for £400, and the same of lice also held a risk of £150 on the contents. The third house, of five rooms, Avhieh was also destroyed was owned by Murdoch and Wallace, and was occupied by Charles W. Jenkins,. It s.'!fni in, sared, in the Soutn British for £400, but there was no insurance on the contents.
