FIRE AT LYALL BAY.

At an early hour this morning three dwelling houses on Sutherland', road, Lyall Bay, and their contents were destroyed by fire, which originated in a five-roomed cottage occupied by Messrs P. McCall, R, Norton, and T. Hurrell, who had left some clothes drying in front of a grate. The house was owned ()y Mr James Mcßain, and was insured m the Phoenix for £300, while the contents were insured in the Ocean for =£100. The second house, of six rooms, which was burned down, was owned and occupied by Mrs Agnes Mcßain, and was insured m the State for £400, and the same of lice also held a risk of £150 on the contents. The third house, of five rooms, Avhieh was also destroyed was owned by Murdoch and Wallace, and was occupied by Charles W. Jenkins,.
