NORMANBY TOWN BOARD.

The monthly meetnng of the Board was held on Monday evening, when the following Commissioners were present: Messrs Davies, Holmes, Kemp, Preston, and Free. A large amount of correspondence was dealt with in connection with the recent unveiling ceremony, and the clei-iS was instructed to write to the Hon. 1. Mackenzie, thanking him for his kindness in attending, the Minister tor Railways for a special tram, and the Hawera Tradesmen's Association for closing at 12 o'clock on the 29th ult Mr J. Finlay, who was present by request, stated that he had been still further successful in collecting funds. On the accounts being gone into it was found that there was still more money required to complete the memorials and an entertainmeirt wiUbe held at an early date for this object. t^a resolve! that Messrs Jones ana Sons should receive a progress payment of £30 on their contract for erecting mem°rialS- GENERAL.
