CORRESPONDENCE.
DAIRY FACTORY AMALGAMxITIQN.
(To tie Editor.)
Sir, —As to the publication in last night's Star by D. J. H., I do net intend to give any opinion in regard to the heading of the column, "The Amalgamation of Kaapokanui and Jolls," for in reading through the letter I saw very little to encourage such a scheme. The latter part perhaps is more encouraging Avhere he suggests wiping out JolPft altogether.
W*h?re D. J. H. refers to the finances of Joll's by stating that in time Joll's Avill have to readjust the basis of its share issue to meet its liabilities, he shows lioav palpably ignorant he is of the affairs of that company. For D. J. H.s information (if it is' possible togive him any), the Joll Co-operative, under its present system of management, AAill be free from its present liability within four years Avithout any alteration as to the basis of share issue, or in any other Avay altering the present articles of association.
It is anything but pleasant business tactics when a director of a neighboring dairy company attempts, through the Press of the district, to intimidate anyone from taking up shares in another concern by making such . statements as those referred to, under a heading which is apparently only a blind: to the real issue.
J. B. MURDOCH.
