OKATO DAIRY FACTORY

BURNED TO THE GROUND

Information was received in New Plymouth last night that the Okato Dairy Factory had been completely destroyed by fire early in the evening (says the News). There is no indication at present as to how the fire originated. The building was discovered to be in flames about 6.30, and there being no water supply available, the premises had to be simply left to burn. Excitement was added to the conflagration by the explosion of a quantity of benzine that was stored on the premises. It is understood that the building and its contents were insured in the Phoenix Office, but the insurances were not ascertainable last night.
