T. Wills), who have lately been in Australia, and. who saw extensive portions of Victoria, New South. Wales, anJ' Queensland agree on saying that the drought nad done much harm to th«; C j-IL trj' Botil al.so independently formed the same opinion of the farms' namely, that they were not models. In fact both declare that they did not see a single farm which they could describe as;neat and well cared for. Yet, though the country was so parched -that th« fields were as dry as the roads Mr W inks said that he could quite imagine what a wonderful country it would be and what great yielding powers it would have; were the rainfall regular and well distributed. Both express themselves as delighted with the generous welcome they received from business people and farms to whom they had letters of introduction.
