OPERA HOUSE

THE WORLD'&PICTURES

The popularity of the World's Pictures was exemplified on Saturday evening when, notwithstanding the boisterous weather, the,re was a large attendance of the public to witness the weekend change of programme. Interest chiefly centred around the picturedrama; "The Four Dare Devils," which, of its class, is probably the most thrilling yet presented to a local audience. The theme of the story has already been told, and the film completely captivated the audience. Particularly was this so in the last act, which showed some marvellous trapeze work on the part of the acrobats. The film will be repeated to-night. The "Four Dare Devils" is supported by an excellent collection of miscellaneous films, includina" two capital stories. "The Substitute" and "The Maid at the Helm." A beautiful scenic picture is that showing the ascent of Potjengrat in Switzerland by four mountaineers. The Pathe Gazette contains pictures dealing with events of world-wide interest. Captain •Tenks' dilemma is the best of the comic films. The Lyric Orchestra contributed appropriate music. The programme will be presented again to-night.
