On Thursday, May 30, I hud a good attendance at Mr A. P. Pringle's clearing sale at Riverdale. The majority of the cows were low in condition, realising from £7 to £9 5s for best; others f3 ■ 10s to £6 os ; dray and harness, £15 ; heiters, £5 Is to £6.

At Bell Hlock on Friday for Mr E Westwood's clearincs: sale there was a very large attendance. Good quality cows were very keenly competed for and vealised from £10 to £14; late calvers £4 10s to £10; small £6 to £6 los; store pigs £1 10s. On Saturday I held my monthly horse fair when owing to the exceptional^ rough day many of the horses entered did not arrive. Competition was anything but keen, the sale being on the slack side throughout. I quote: Halfdraughts £17 to £21; harness horses £10 os to £16; upstanding hacks £11 to £14; hacks £3 to £6 12s 6d: pair of pomes £25 10s; Cortland waggon £34 At Rahotd on Tuesday, June 4, owing to the wretched weather, I had only a small entry, a lot of advertised cattle not being yarded. Some good heifers were penned, meeting with very keen competition at advanced rates'.
