A ROYAL COMMISSION INVESGATTNG. BY CABLE—'PRESS ASSOCIATION—COtYRIGHT BRISBANE, May 16. The Royal Commission in connection with the fruit industry has commenced -its sittings. Mr Foster, the chairman, stated that he thought the time had come for the Federal Government to take hold of, all production with a view to giving better facilities for marketing at home aud abroad. AVitnesses declared that the opposition of Chinese gardeners and importation from Fiji made growing bananas unprofitable.
