CHRISTCHURCH, May 15. At the criminal sittings AA 7illiam FTapling and AVilliam Davies were acquitted on a charge of carnally knoivmg a girl uuder the age of 16 years. Ernest Edmond Needham, for'forging and uttering a cheque for £5, was sentenced to 30 months' imprisonment. Sadler was convicted of unlawfully using an instrument, and sentence was deferred.
