At eight o'clock last night a siege of the house began. A huge cro|vd was present. Alter a sharp' -V__iliade Vuillemin emerged and surrendered. More shots followed from the villa. Detective Fleury was shot in the stomach, and two other officers less seriously. From the railway viaduct stones were hurled and crushed, in the roof. Several bombs were exploded against the building ineffectually. Meanwhile the Zouaves, at various points round the house.'kept up a hot lire, the bandits replying. Ine battle lasted for -several h-burs. J A melinite bomb was ultimately exploded, and the house was carried by assault. The police removed Gamier dead, and Vallot died on the way to Paris. Two thousand troops were engaged. The fate of the second woman has not been recorded^
