A FURTHER PROTEST

WHANGAREI, May 15. The conference in Whangarei of local bodies' delegates to choose a representative to attend the Local Government Bill Conference in Wellington outvoted by large majorities every proposal in the Bill, which .was considered seriatum. There was unanimous opposition to the provincial councils scheme, the only variation being that graduated subsidies should be double that of the proposed scale. Mr Slade, of the Hobspn County Council, was appointed to represent the Marsden and Kaipara Hospital Board district.
