SCENIC RESERVE.
QUESTION OF ACCESS

DANNEVIRKE, May 14. Members of a deputation waited upon the Prime Minister with regard to giving road access to a scenic reserve gazetted, were disappointed with the re. ception accorded. The Mayor explained the need for a road, as the reserve is surrounded by private properties, but the Prime Minister said that the policy of the Department was not to give access to the reserves. Another member of the deputation wanted to know, the value of the reserve if people could not gam access to it. The Prime Minister: lou can take it from me you won't get a road. Continuing, he said^that if the people were given access to the reserve they would destroy it.
