The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd. (Stratford branch) report as follows ■ On Tuesday, May 7, we held our usual sale in conjunction with Messrs W, H. H, Young and Co., when .we had v smaii yarding of 650 cattle .and 130 lambs. Store cows came forward in greater numbers than usual. l*rioes were as follows: Store cows, 32s to £3 17s; forward cows from £4 2s to £4 18s; fat cows, £0 to £5 8s; weahers, «;nall, 23s 6d; weaner steers, 30s 6d to 36s 6d; weaner heifers, showing color, J "358 to 4os 6d; 20-months heifers in calf, ! £3 6s to £3 10b"; 20-months empty hek fers, 08s 6d; bulls, £3 to £4 15s; lambs, Ss. A nice line of 16 well-growon Short-. Jiorn weaner heifers realised 39s to a local purchaser. On Friday, May 10, we held our usual jraohthly sale at our Kohuratahi yards, vrhen we had a .fair-yarding of 286.entitle- and 160 sheep. Prices realised were :&s follows: Mixed weaners, 28s; 18- / ivonths .steers, £2 9s to £3 3s 6d; 18---->r»-.f»nths empty heifers, £3 2s; heifers, in ■calf. £4'; store cows, £3 Is to £3 15s; ilaiibs, 7s 4d; 2-tcoth wethers, 13s 6d.. On Tuesday, May 7, we held our monthly sale of wool, sheepskins, hides, calfskins, etc. A fair quantity of wool and skins were offered, the bulk of the wool being coarse crossbred and lambs.
