A meeting of settlers to choose 'delegates to meet the Railway Commission, was held on Friday evening, and was well attended. Those present included the Mayor of Stratford (Mr Kirkwood), Dr. Paget, Mr W. G. Malone, Mr Richards (Secretary of the Stratford Railway League) and Mr Cook, clerk of Kaponga Town Board. Mr Recce Anderson was voted to the chair. Speeches were made in favor of the Stratford route, and a resolution to that effect was unanimously carried. The following gentlemen were appointed as delegates: Messrs A. Mann, R. Anderson and J, Whittington, for Mahoe, and Messrs Ross and Gray for Lowgarth.
