ACCIDENT WHILE CLIMBING
MAN FALLS OVER A PRECIPICE

NELSON, May 13. Mr A. Allan, a well-known business man in Nelson, was seriously injured last night. AVith a party of ladies he was hill-climbing yesterday, but owing to the mist got off the track. About 9 p.m. Mr Allan was proceeding ahead and fell over a precipice. The girls remained all night on a ledge of rock till daylight, when Miss Hunter set off for Nelson for assistance. Misses Bogle and Robertson went to Mr Allan and covered hi;n with clothing. The police and a doctor arrived in the morning and returned to town in the afternoon. Mr Allan is in a semiconscious condition. Later. The injuries to Mr Allan consist of severe cuts on the head and chest, while several ribs are broken. His condition is serious.
