EGMONT A. & P. ASSOCIATION.
COMMITTEE MEETING.
A meeting of the committee of the Egmont A. and P. Association was held on Saturday afternoon in the Borough Council Chambers. Present— Messrs Hawken (president), Tonks, Nalder, Washer, Hamilton, Bremer, Mills, Campbell, Best, Robertson, Greaves, Piper, Linn, J. Hunter, A. Hunter, and Wills. Apologies for absence were from Messrs Gillies, Wills, O'Callaghan, and (Cooper. The President, Messrs Nalder, A. and J. Hunter, were appointed a committee to interview the Hawera Football Club with reference to a proposal that it use the A. and P. Association's grounds for matches, particularly interprovincial contests.
The following sub-committees were appointed: Finance, the President, vicePresident, treasurer, Messrs A. Hunter and A. S. Tonks; Ground Committee, Messrs Hunter, Gillanders, Wills, Exley, Good, Nalder, and officers, ex-of-ficio -, Judge and Programme Committee, Messrs Hunter, Tonks, Linn, Exley, Grant, Hamilton, Washer, Robertson, Mills, Campbell, officers ex-officio; Canvassing Committee, Grant, Piper, O'Callaghan, Er' sy, Robertson, Broderick, Cooper, Greaves, J. Hunter, and Hamilton; Dog Committee, Messrs Bridge, B. C. Bennett, W. J. White, C. Goodson, J. C. Ekdahl, L. E. Tabart (Wanganui), T. Kirkwood (Stratford), G. W. Gibson, Jehkinson (Eltham). Cuthbertson (Stratford), and the President.
Ten resignations were received, principals from members who have left the district.
Tlie following new members were elected: Messrs A. Cruickshank, Rev. J. R. Cassell, A. Western, F. W. Carev, J. Barkla, D. L. Tonks, A. Hobbs, G. Fairweather, W. Rossiter, G. W. Buckeridge.
The President referred to the advisableness of doing something towards improving the appearance of the grounds, and it was decided that the Ground Committee report on the matter,to the next meeting.
The President asked all members to do their best to induce local farmers to exhibit at this year's fixture. He said, as he had remarked at the annual meeting, that the district breeders did not. support the Sbow y as they might do.
The feeling of the meeting, was with the President, and the committee promised to co-operate with him in seeur■ing larger entries from the surrounding district.
