Judge Murray, in sentencing prisoners tor an tftfence arising out ot a sports -meeting, declared that the standard ot personal honor in regard to sport in /Australia had fallen very low. Men 'did tricky, deceitful things, not because ■they themselves were at a low ebb ot morality, but because they lived, so far as sport was concerned, in an at-' mosphere that was seething with, dis-' honor and deceit, and there appeared to be little honor and little chivalry, at most among a portion of the people.
