DEPUTATION TO MR ISITT.

CHRISCHURCH, Aug. 1. A large deputation of CnristchurcK North electors waited on the Rev L. M_ lsitt with a request that he should outline his views> on political matters. Mr lsitt said he had had many argumatters, but their views on important, matters in pontics were similar. Tho speaker indicated that he opposed th»further sale of Crown lands, and added that he wanted it distinctly understood that he would only go to the Houses as one who was free from any compactwitnany Government or party. He would go there to listen to legislative* proposals brought forward, and voteupon them as his mind directed and his conscience dictated. Various committees were formed to> further Mr lsitt's election. Dr. Thacker has not yet decided to contest the seat, but gives a definite reply to-morrow afternoon. If her stands it will be as an Independent Liberal.

So far the Labor Party has not made its selection, but it is understood will do so on Friday night.
