,« cable—press ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT

LONDON, August 1

A dinner was held at the Crystal Palace, Lord Desborough presiding. He presented the Lonsdale Cup to the Canadians, and the inter-Empire medals. He congratulated the overseas representatives on coming thousands of miles to participate in the Empire tests, animated by the best feelings of sport. He announced, in connection with the Qlympia Games of 1912 that arrangements were to be made for British, Australasian, Canadian, and South African teams to train together in England and go to Stockholm together, if possible, as an' Empire team. Mr Coombes, manager of the Australasian team, asked for reciprocity by Britain in sending a team to Australia.
