A huge conflagration ensued, and 600 firemen, 3,ooo'police, ud 2,000 railwaymen fought the flames for 18 hours, and prevented them igniting a warehouse containing 2000' tons of benzine.

Schottek was arrested. Timber to the value of £50,000 was destroyed.
