THE MINISTER OF PUBLIC WORKS AT MANAIA.

The Hon. R. McKenzie at Mahaia from Opunake on Sunday morning. He was met at Kaupokonui by a number of gentlemen at 11.30 and escorted to Manaia, where he arrived at about 12.30. After luncheon, at 2 p.m., the Minister, accompanied by some of the local public men journeyed by motor car to Kaponga, when a visit was paid to Mr Swadling. The return trip was made by the Manaia and Skeet roads, a short halt was made so that the Minister might inspect the Te Ngutu o te Manu Domain. _ They also paid a visit to Mr F. McGuire's place at Okaiawa, where they were entertained at afternoon tea. This morning MfTSicKenzie visited the public and convent schools and delivered addresses to the children who, at his request, were given a half holiday after being liberally supplied with sweets by Mrs McKenzie. ■■■■"..
