The annual meeting of the Eltham Brass Band was held on Friday night, when there was a full attendance. Mr G. P. Wake, President, occupied the chair.

The annual report stated that they had commenced the year with an overdraft of £100, which had been reduced during the year to £26 0s lid. The re. venues had been chiefly from engagements by the band, and members' subscriptions (£l6) f and borough subsaidy £15. It was intended to give open-air concerts as an appreciation of the" generosity of the Council in granting the subsidy. Another source of income to the band had been engagements by Mr Wilkinson for his pictures. Part of the proceeds of this had been paid to members privately, and part had gone to the band funds. Mr Wilkinson had made a very generous offer to the band. He had given the use of the hall free> provide films and operator, which they had accepted. The wnole of the proceeds would go to the band fund. The statement of receipts and expenditure showed receipts £78 15s 3d, expenditure £106 13s Bd. The statement of assets and liabilities showed: Assets £310 14s, liabilities £54 18s 9d, surplus £255 19s 3d.

The report and balance-sheet were adopted.

The election of officers for the ensuing- year resulted as follows-.—Presi-dent, Mr G. P. Wake; vice-presidents, Messrs N. Muir, E. Parrott, J. Price, C. Potts, H. Sheppard, and Dr Harrison ; Mr Muir was elected a life honorary member; conductor, Mr A. Beesley (re-elected); bandmaster, Mr E. Cave; band sergeant, Mr A. Rogers; secretary, Mr H. A. Nuttall; treasurer, Mr J. Fake; librarians, Bandsmen Andrews and Clark; hon. solicitor, Mr Gt. P. Wake; general committee, Bandsmen S. Murray, C. Sass, D. Smith, A. Rogers and J. Hopewell. Presentation of medals won in the solo competition took place, Bandsman D. Smith being presented with first prize gold medal, and Bandsman W. Walsh second prize gold medal. Mr Nuttall's gold medal "for best attendance was won by bandsman C. Strack Mr N. Muir donated £2 2s to the band fund; and Conductor Beesley a gold medal for competition in the A grade, and one for the B grade players.
