PHILLIPS SUCCUMBS

NEW YORK, Jan. 25. Mr Phillips, the author, who was shot at New York, has succumbed to his injuries.

A cable yesterday stated that Daniel Graham Phillips editor and novelist, was shot at New York. His assailant was a Harvard man, named Fitzhugh Goldsborough, who shot himself with a revolver, dying instantly. He is believed to have been insane. The motive of the assailant was unknown.
