HAWERA WINTER SHOW

THE SCHEDULE.

The schedule of the "Great Dominion Dairy Show," under the auspices of the South Taranaki Winter Show Company," to be opened in Hawera on July 13, is now being circulated. In the dairy factory cheese section there are four classes, (1) lw»s-fc single cheese, 7Qlba or over ; (2) Taranaki championship (open to Taranaki dairy factories only), for best three cases white or colored cheese, no cheese to be less than 601bs weight •, (3 and 4) for best three cases, of white and colored cheese. Substantial prizes and trophies are offered in connection with the foregoing, including valuable challenge cups, gold medals, etc. The Dairy Factory Butter section provides three classes: (1) box of factory butter, 561bs (open to all factories in New Zealand) ; (2) Taranaki championship, box of factory butter, 561bs; (3) box of factory butter (carrying a challenge). Here again valuable prizes are to be won.

In the factory hams and bacon classes the first prize will be a framed diploma, and the second a framed certificate. There are two classes, (1) two hams, factory cured, and (2) two sides of bacon, also factory cured. There are eight classes in the dairy utensils, implements, New Zealand manufactures section, namely: Two milk cans, two cream cans, one strainer, aerator, combined strainer and aerator, factory butter table, butter churn, butter pounder for factory use. Certificates of merit will be awarded in these classes. There is a special class for most improved teat cup. The cups will be arranged on a stand, and the decision will depend npon the farmers who will vote by ballot. Provision is made for a public school dH-jsion, in which is incorporated a "School District Farmers' Competition." The first prize will be £3 and framed dirvloma, and the second will be £2 and framed certificate. A subsidy of £1 will be naid to each unplaced exhibitor, provided the same is certified by the iudge as being of reasonable merit. There will also be a public school gardens' competition for best collection of farm roots, etc. Prizes: £1 Is and framed diploma, 10s 6d and framed certificate. There will be another class for vegetables. A first prize of 10s mi da second of 5s will be given for the bpst collection of vegetables grown by a Maori. In the art section (in addition to ordinary prizes') a special prize of £2 zs p.ops to thp exhibitor scoring most points in the art division of technical school work.
