MR REDMOND ON THE VETO.
LONDON, May 23. Mr Redmond remarked that the Lib-
eral Government and the parity had "burned their boats" on the issue of the extinction of the Lords' veto. No compromise was possible, and though there might be a temporary defeat; the ultimate triumph of the democracy was certain.
