Serious May Day distrubanres were , feared in Italy, inasmuch as 60,000 navviesi were on strike in Milan, whilst another 35,000 workmen were out in Bologno. During the progress of a meeting in Rome, at which fiery speeches were being delivered, torrential rain commenced to fall, and the. crowds were soon dispersed. In Geneva, a group of anarchjsts had a collision with .the police, as a result of whicb several persons were injured.
